G Suite price increase 2019
G Suite have announced that they will increase their prices on April 2, 2019. The increase will affect both G Suite Basic and Business editions, with G Suite Enterprise remaining the same.
G Suite Basic will increase to £4.60(+ VAT) per user per month, and G Suite Business will increase to £9.21(+ VAT) per user per month. These increases will apply globally, with local market adjustments for certain regions.
(These prices are for an unmanaged service, runPCrun provides first level support for an additional 50p per month per mailbox for both G-Suite plans)
Google say the reason for these increases is the number of new services within G Suite, including real-time collaboration (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and flexible storage (Drive), powerful video conferencing (Hangouts Meet), secure team messaging (Hangouts Chat) and enterprise-grade search capabilities (Cloud Search) which have been added to the original version, released some 10 years ago.
Google have also responded by highlighting their products are now infused with advanced artificial intelligence to make it easier to respond to emails, gather insights from data, and protect against phishing attacks before they happen.
If you currently have G Suite Basic or Business edition on the Flexible Plan, the new list prices will go into effect on April 2, 2019. If you are on the Annual Plan, the new prices will go into effect the first time your plan renews on or after April 2, 2019. These changes will not impact your current contract or any renewal event prior to that date.
