We've come across it more times than we care to mention. Companies that spend very little time on their backup needs. That is until a problem occurs and they really need that data they just lost, either simply losing man-hours or expensive data or having to pay for expensive data recovery services.
This is usually the point we are brought in by new customers!
So what happens if data is not backed up and there is no preparation for disaster?
We still occasionally get a business asking us to install software from existing CD's onto new machines without considering or simply ignoring license implications.
Software licensing is a very important issue today and companies need to understand how software licenses work as they are not as simple as buying a lawn-mower or a loaf of bread. runPCrun will not install software if we consider it unlicensed, so please do not ask us to do so.
This is a list of software that I carry on my portable thumbdrive (1Gb). Almost all of it is Freeware (any exceptions are noted) and most of it is Open Source too.
The flashkey has an autorun.inf to start PStart on double click, or on the right click menu either open explorer or mount a Truecrypt archive (to protect customer data). Lastly the key is bootable with Acronis True Image V9
